  Wonderful
A song about the transient nature of things. Not ideally suited for the speech impedimented - 'Every second is sacred in silence'.
From Crumbs Vol 1 by The Milk & Honey Band

  Grass Is Greener
More than a little fabs here too but the lyrics (which took about 4 entire rewrites - grrrr) are some of my MHB faves. Apparently Gus Dudgeon really liked this song, bless 'im.
From Crumbs Vol 1 by The Milk & Honey Band

  Born In The Sky
Mik turned up with this lovely descending guitar arpeggio and the song basically got written around it. The end section rocks - part 'Sweet Jane' by the Velvets and some 'Revolver' era fabs thrown in. Corking bv's in the choruses from Karen too.
From Crumbs Vol 1 by The Milk & Honey Band

  Stare At The Sun
Another classic example of the sad 6/8 syndrome. Richard had a verse/chorus chord sequence and then we worked it into a song from there over a few rehearsals. Took forever to find the lyrics for this one. I like how the middle 8 really makes it take off and Mik's 'Midnight Cowboy' rip off guitar part in the second bridge is solid gold.

How This Is Pop Came To Be
Forget all the musical ghettos, its only music, its pop music.
From How They Came To Be Series by Andy Partridge

  My Land Is Burning
A truly forgotten pearl that was due to go up for XTC's Apple Venus Vol 1 album. The attractive face of gloom in one song.
From Fuzzy Warbles Vol 5 by Andy Partridge

  Red Brick Dream
Andy feeling his way into a song from XTC's Big Express period. Is this the only track that ever mentions Swindon?
From Fuzzy Warbles Vol 5 by Andy Partridge

  I Defy You Gravity
James Brown meets Can meets Old Mother Hubbard. A lighter than air funkery rhyme.
